“He took the trophy away from me two years in a row and he beat me in the final,” Danford said with a laugh, referring to Cowen’s London Knights beating his youth team. “So to be able to play with him and even Landon Simm… we were both young and Cowan was able to pass that on to me was really special. He (Cowan) kind of took me under his wing and showed me a lot of good dinner spots and we spent a lot of time together.”
