Draymond Green isn’t hiding the fact that he’s trying to recruit LeBron James to the Golden State Warriors.
After spending several days in Puerto Rico, with James still weighing his free-agent options, Green acknowledged that he has floated his ideas and believes his ideas are enough to make the four-time MVP think twice.
“If I didn’t take this opportunity, I would have been fired,” Green said on “The Draymond Green Show,” according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Ali Thanawalla. “If we had been together for X amount of days, I would have gone crazy and there was no way I would have said, ‘Yo, we need to cut this.'” It was like, ‘What the hell is going on? What are we doing? So that’s it.

James has now spent nearly two weeks considering his next destination, with the Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers reportedly among his options.
Green also addressed the attention surrounding his trip with James before ESPN insider Shams Charania reported the two were spotted golfing in Puerto Rico.
“Shams reported that LeBron and I spent some time together last week,” Green said. “Look, I don’t have a problem with Shamus. I think he’s very good at what he does. I think sometimes things are a little outside the scope of the job. I think reporting the whereabouts is a little outside the scope of the job. I also think it’s a little irrelevant because the reason is obviously Broon, that’s my brother. We’ve developed a great relationship.”
