AHL, teams raise more than  million for charities in 2025-26 season | TheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts …the American Hockey League announced today over US$7 million Raised by the AHL and its 32 member clubs during the 2025-26 season for donation to various charities and relief funds across North America.

In addition to the hundreds of local hospitals, food banks, charitable foundations, scholarship programs and other non-profit organizations that have been the beneficiaries of AHL philanthropy this season, the team has made donations to multiple national organizations, including:

  • ALS Association
  • American/Canadian Cancer Society

  • Boys and Girls Club of America
  • Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Jimmy Foundation
  • easter seal
  • Girl Scouts of the United States
  • Hockey fights cancer
  • HT40 Basics/Shoulder Check
  • Make-A-Wish Foundation of America
  • Movibel Foundation
  • Purple Heart Foundation
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Salvation Army
  • Boy Scouts of America

In addition to raising funds, AHL teams give back to their local communities through numerous events, including more than 1,200 visits by players and coaches to schools, hospitals, libraries and other locations and more than 2,400 mascot appearances. We donated more than 140,000 game tickets to local charities and collected items such as food, winter apparel, holiday gifts and hockey equipment at various events organized by AHL clubs.

The American Hockey League has been in operation since 1936, has franchises in 32 cities in North America, and is the top developmental league for players, coaches, managers, executives and broadcasters of all 32 National Hockey League teams. Today, nearly 90 percent of NHL players are American Hockey League graduates.
