Springfield, Massachusetts … American Hockey League today announced Henderson Silver Knights forward Ben Hemeling has been selected as Upper Deck AHL Rookie of the Month February.
Hemmerling scored 6 goals, 4 assists, 10 points and a +6 rating in 9 games for Henderson last month.
Hemmerling scored in back-to-back games against Coachella Valley on February 6-7, then scored his first career two-goal game on February 15 in San Jose. On February 20, he assisted on the game-winning goal as the Silver Knights defeated Abbotsford 6-3. On February 28, his first career three-pointer (two goals and one assist) helped Henderson defeat Colorado 4-2.
The 21-year-old Hemmerling, a native of Sherwood Park, Alta., is in his first full professional season after missing most of the 2024-25 season due to injury. On March 8, 2025, he made his professional debut on behalf of Henderson and scored 1 goal and 1 assist in 17 games. Hemmerling, who was drafted by Vegas in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, spent four seasons with Everett in the Western Hockey League, leading the club in points and serving as team captain in the 2023-24 season.
