Springfield, Massachusetts …the American Hockey League announced today Brandon Halvorson Syracuse Crunch drafted AHL Goaltender of the Month February.

Halverson went 6-0 last month, allowing 10 goals on 151 shots in six starts, a 1.67 goals-against average and a 0.934 save percentage.

Halverson made 27 saves in a 4-3 win over Springfield on Feb. 4 and stopped 21 shots in a 5-2 win over Belleville on Feb. 7 before stopping Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (16 saves) on Feb. 14. He defeated Belleville again with 21 saves in a 2-1 win on February 18, and stopped Charlotte with 25 saves in a 4-0 win on February 4. February 20th. On February 28, Halverson made 31 saves in a 6–4 win over first-ranked Laval, a personal best and six straight wins.

Halverson, who has lost just two regular-season games in his past 19 games (14-2-3), has appeared in 29 games for Syracuse this season, compiling a 19-6-3 record, ranking sixth in the AHL with a 2.25 goals-against average, 10th with a .910 save percentage and tied for first with five shutouts. The 10-year pro from Traverse City, Mich., made 138 appearances in his AHL career for Syracuse, Tucson and Hartford, compiling a 66-49-18 record, a 2.66 GAA, a .903 save percentage and 11 shutouts. For the 2024-25 season, Halvorsen is the co-recipient of the AHL's Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award, which is presented to the goalie of the team that averages the fewest goals per game during the regular season.

Halverson, originally a second-round selection by the New York Rangers in the 2014 NHL Draft, has played three games in the NHL, including one this season with Tampa Bay.
