Pope Francis

The Vatican said Pope Francis woke up on a quiet night on the 10th day of his hospitalization and caused an early stage of the kidney deficiency phase due to a complex lung infection.

“The night passed, the pope was sleeping and resting,” it said. The Vatican said the 88-year-old pope was continuing to feed himself without artificial or liquid nutrition, adding that he was energetic.

Medical announcements are expected later that day. Also late Monday, Vatican Cardinal Pietro Parolin will pray in time at St. Peter's Square.

Later Sunday, doctors reported blood tests showed “early, mild renal insufficiency,” but were still under control. They said Francis is still in critical condition but has never encountered any further respiratory crisis since Saturday.

The doctor said Francis' condition was touch and behavior, given his age, vulnerability and preexisting lung disease. They warned that the main threat Francis faced was sepsis, a serious blood infection that could be a complication of pneumonia.

To date, no sepsis of sepsis has been mentioned in the medical update provided by the Vatican.

On Sunday in New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan admitted that the Roman church leaders did not say publicly: Catholics “unityed by the bedside of a dying father.”

“As our Father Pope Francis has a very, very fragile health, and may be close to death,” Dolan said in a gay pulpit at St. Patrick's Cathedral, although he later went on to be a gay man. Tell reporters that he hoped and prayed that Francis would “bounce” back. ”

Francis' condition has recovered from speculation about what might happen to him if he loses consciousness or loses capacity and whether he will quit.
