Google Gemini turns your documents into a podcast for AI hosting

Google is launching a new tool for its AI model GEMINI, which converts courses and meeting notes, documents, slideshows, email threads, and reports into podcast-style conversations. The company said it brings its audio overview to Gemini in laptop LM, its generated AI usage tool, to help users better digest and understand complex information.

According to Google, there are two AI hosts that can help with conversation streaming based on uploaded files. They summarize the material, create connections between topics, conduct back and forth discussions, and provide “unique perspectives.”

The new feature is available to Gemini and Gemini premium subscribers in English worldwide, with more languages coming soon. The move comes as companies like Google and OpenAI continue to expand their suite of tools to develop AI that can be more like personal assistants by helping users perform tasks and decisions.

Google also launched an interactive space for known Canvas for Gemini users to create, draft or refine documents and code. The canvas also provides users with real-time feedback and previews. For documents, the user can adjust the tone, length, or format of the entire section or a particular section, such as paragraphs of the paper or speech.
