The British Coast Guard said on Monday that an oil tanker and a cargo ship had collided on the coast of eastern England and rescue operations were underway.

Several lifeboats and a Coast Guard rescue helicopter were sent to the scene in the North Sea, as well as a Coast Guard and nearby fire-capable ships.

The BBC reported that the tanker caught fire. According to the discoverers of the ship tracking the on-site ship, the tanker is believed to be the US-flag chemical and oil product, Stena Immaculate, at the time, at the anchor point.

The Maritime and Coast Guard said the alarm was filed at 9:48 a.m. GMT. The collision site is located on the Hull Coast about 250 kilometers north of London.

It said the United Nations Shipping Agency is the International Maritime Organization and he is aware of this situation and is undergoing further inspections.
