Crunch and Lightning announce four-year partnership extension | TheAHL.com

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Syracuse Crunch have announced a four-year extension that will allow Tampa Bay’s top players to continue to develop their talents with Syracuse through the 2029-30 season.

Since their inception in 2012, 104 players have joined both the Crunch and Lightning teams, including Andrei Vasilevsky, Nikita Kucherov and brayden point. Jon CooperHe won the 2025-26 NHL Outstanding Coach Jack Adams Award and was promoted to Tampa Bay from Syracuse University in 2013.

Syracuse has reached the Calder Cup finals twice, while Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021.

In 14 seasons with the Chargers, the Crunch compiled a record of 520-331-81-58 and missed the Calder Cup playoffs only twice. These teams have the longest streak of consecutive active affiliates making the playoffs (8).
