Springfield, Massachusetts … American Hockey League announced today Syracuse forward Jacob Pelletier has been selected as Fortune Tires ‘Looking For More’ AHL Player of the Year.
Fortune Tires “Looking For More” The AHL Player of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding player in the league who excels during the 2025-26 season. Fortune Tires, the official tire of the AHL, will donate $2,500 to a charity of the player’s choice, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence and community impact. Additionally, Fortune Tires, which provides premium tires designed for safety, durability and reliable performance for a variety of vehicles, will donate a set of four tires to players.
Pelletier was selected as an AHL first-team All-Star and won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the AHL scoring leader in 2025-26, recording a career-high 28 goals, 49 assists, 77 points and a +25 rating in 63 games for Syracuse. He is tied for the league lead with five shorthanded goals, and his 31 power-play points are the most among AHL forwards. The fifth-year pro also ended the season with a 20-game point streak, the longest streak by an AHL skater in 17 years, and competed in his first AHL All-Star Classic in February.
Pelletier, who scored five points in four Calder Cup playoff games this spring, has totaled 79 goals and 128 assists for 207 points in 202 career AHL regular-season games with Syracuse, Calgary and Stockton. He was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team in the 2021-22 season.
Pelletier, who was born in Quebec City, was originally Calgary’s first-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and appeared in five games with Tampa Bay this season after signing with the Lightning as a free agent on July 2, 2025. He has 11 goals and 18 assists in 91 career NHL games.
