Hawks reach first Western Conference Finals | TheAHL.com

The Colorado Eagles advanced to the AHL Western Conference Finals for the first time with a 3-2 win over Coachella Valley on Wednesday night at the Blue Arena.

The Eagles eliminated the Firebirds three games to one and will face either Grand Rapids or Chicago for the Calder Trophy.

Brian Yoon, Tristan Nelson and Gavin Brindley Midway through the second period, the Eagles scored at 5:08 to turn a two-goal deficit into a lead they couldn’t relinquish.

Trent Miner (8-2) finished the night with 23 saves, improving Colorado to 6-0 at home in the postseason.

Jagger Filkus and Will Otavainen Scored a goal and made 23 saves for the Firebirds Riko Koko (6-6).
