Rocks smashed on the windshield, hurting drivers in downtown Los Angeles

The California Highway Patrol is looking for someone who hits at least three cars and rocks on Highway 10 in downtown Los Angeles throw rocks.

Authorities say a driver was hit by a large rock on his windshield. .

Video from the onscene.tv news service shows a pickup truck parked on the shoulder of a highway with a wide open hole in the windshield. The car was discovered by the Los Angeles Fire Department on the westbound Los Angeles Fire Department at the intersection of Highway 110 near Adams Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the unidentified driver reported that something flew past his windshield and hit his chest. The extent of the driver's injury is not known, but he was taken to the hospital by an ambulance shortly before midnight.

Police also received two other reports of vehicles hit by debris thrown away in the same general area, said Roberto Gomez, an officer at the Centre for Health Protection.

The incident is still under investigation and there are currently no descriptions of the suspect.

A driver said his car was hit by a KTTV-TV and he saw someone wearing a hoodie standing on the shoulders of the highway.
