California Earthquake: 3.9 earthquake shaking near Malibu

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake less than a mile from Malibu was reportedly hit by a magnitude 3.9 earthquake at 8:17 p.m. Sunday.

The earthquake occurred about four miles from Thousand Oaks, and some residents reported light, but the tremor was extended. They said the sway left and right lasted for about 10 seconds, which was “very good rattle.”

The earthquake is four miles from Westlake Village, seven miles from Agoura Hills and nine miles from Oak Park.

There have been two earthquakes of 3.0 or greater nearby in the past 10 days.

According to the last three-year data sample, the Greater Los Angeles area has an average of five earthquakes per year, with 3.0 to 4.0 earthquakes per year.
