De'aaron Fox took a big blow for the rest of the season

New Spurs recruit De'aaron Fox will make season layoffs immediately after the team announced the surgery.

After he had the best game for the team, he scored 32 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds and steals in a 126-116 win over San Antonio's Mavericks on Wednesday night.

It was a huge blow for San Antonio, thanks to blood clots and head coach Gregg Popovich, who have no superstar Victor Wembanyama.

“San Antonio Spurs star De'aaron Fox will undergo a seasonal surgery Tuesday to repair tendon damage to his left pinky finger.”

“Fox suffered a tendon injury during training camp with the Sacramento Kings in October and played in the disease all season.”

Shams continues that the decision to perform the surgery now is to speed up the recovery process and promote offseason chemistry in the lineup.

He added: “The team said he hopes he will fully recover and be ready for the start of next season.”

The surgery will be performed in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The Guard joined the Spurs before the NBA trade deadline and ended up playing 17 games for San Antonio, where he averaged 19.7 points, 6.8 assists and 1.5 steals on average.

In 62 games with the Spurs and the Kings this season, he averaged 23.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.
