Johnson scored 13 points in 49 games in the AHL Iowa Field this season. He also skated in three games with Minnesota.
Johnson is a sixth-year pro from Alta, with Iowa and Rockford playing 132 professional games in the AHL, raising 13 goals and 23 assists in 36 points.
In 144 professional NHL games against Chicago and Minnesota, Johnson recorded seven goals and 10 assists in 17 points.
