Utah Mammoths acquire goalie Sebastian Cosa From the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Friday’s 23rd overall selection in the 2026 NHL Draft.

Detroit uses draft pick to select forward JP Hulbert.

Kosar completes his fourth professional season in 2025-26, playing 39 games with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins, with a record of 26 wins, 8 draws and 4 losses, averaging 2.33 goals against per game (fifth in the AHL), a .915 save percentage (sixth) and five shutouts (second). Xhosa and Michal Postava Shares the 2025-26 Harry “Hap” Holmes Memorial Award as the Griffins allowed the fewest goals in the league in 2025-26.

Kosar, 23, has appeared in 123 career AHL games with the Griffins, compiling a 70-33-18 record, a 2.46 GAA, a .911 save percentage and eight shutouts. He participated in the 2025 and 2026 AHL All-Star Classic games.

Kosar made his NHL debut with the Red Wings on December 9, 2024, stopping 12 of 14 shots in Buffalo to earn his first career win.

He was originally selected by Detroit in the first round (15th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
