The decisive Game 5 will take place on Saturday in Wilkes-Barre (6:05 ET, ), the winner advances to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Dillon Dube He broke the deadlock with a power-play goal at 16:14 of the second period, his third of the series and fifth of the playoffs.
Marc Andre Gaude His first goal since March 11 extended the Thunderbirds’ lead to 2-0 with 13:12 left in regulation.
Georgi Romanov (7-3) made 20 saves in his second playoff win, helping Springfield improve to 3-0 when facing playoff elimination and 4-0 after losing in the postseason.
Sergei Murashov (5-3) stopped 30 shots for the Penguins, who suffered their first shutout loss in the postseason since May 6, 2016 against Hershey.
