Silver Knights' Lavoie named AHL Player of the Month for MarchTheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts. … American Hockey League announced today Henderson Silver Knights forward Raphael Lavoie has been selected as Fortune Tyres 'Looking For More' AHL Player of the Month March.

Each month, the Fortune Tires “Expect More” AHL Player of the Month Award recognizes an outstanding player in the league who has excelled. As the official tire of the AHL, Fortune Tires will donate $500 to the player's charity of choice and $2,500 to the Player of the Year charity, highlighting the company's commitment to excellence and community impact.

Last month, Lavoie played 14 games for the Silver Knights, scoring 13 goals and adding 7 assists for 20 points.

Lavoie started the month with goals in back-to-back games, against Colorado on March 1 and Ontario on March 6, before ending March with 10 straight games. On March 11, he scored the decisive goal in a 7-6 overtime victory over Tucson, scoring his third career hat trick. He helped Henderson sweep Abbotsford's two games with a goal and an assist on March 14 and two assists on March 15. On March 17, Lavoie scored two goals and an assist in the Silver Knights' 6-5 victory over Calgary, and then scored a goal and an assist in an 8-2 victory. On March 18, Henderson completed a perfect 6-0-0 road trip with a win over the Wranglers. He notched his 200th career AHL point with an assist on March 25 against Ontario, then added the game-winning goal in a 4-1 win over Milwaukee on March 28 to close out March.

Lavoie's 13 goals are the most by an AHL player in a single month. Riley Barber (15) and Stefan Northen (13) April 2022.

Lavoie played in 37 games for Henderson this season, scoring 24 goals, contributing 20 assists and scoring 44 points. This is his sixth career and second time playing for the Vegas team. The native of Chabouly, Que., who was drafted by Edmonton in the second round of the 2019 NHL draft, has 112 goals and 90 assists for 202 points in 278 career AHL games with Henderson and Bakersfield, as well as 17 games in the NHL with the Oilers and Golden Knights.
