Hawks lock up playoff spot | TheAHL.com

The Colorado Eagles officially clinched a spot in the 2026 Calder Cup playoffs with a 2-1 win in Calgary on Sunday and a 5-3 loss to San Diego later that night in Abbotsford.

Mathematically, the Eagles' magic number is still 1, but it will be reduced to zero regardless of the outcome of Wednesday's game between San Diego and Tucson.

Since joining the AHL in 2018, Colorado has qualified for the Calder Cup playoffs in six attempts. The Eagles will be one of seven teams from the Pacific Region to qualify for the Calder Cup Playoffs; the top-ranked team will receive a bye to the conference semifinals, while teams second through seventh will play a best-of-three first-round series.

The AHL's 2025-26 regular season ends April 19; for more information and daily updates on the Calder Cup Playoffs, check out the official AHL Playoffs Primer.
