Luka Doncic dominates NBA's 2026 All-Star starting lineup

The NBA officially announced its All-Star starters on Monday, and Luka Doncic once again proved just how popular he is.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar won the fan vote by nearly 200,000 votes and headlined the starting lineup for the 2026 All-Star Game.

Under the league's voting format, fan votes account for 50 percent of the final result, while NBA players and media panels each account for 25 percent. Starters are selected without regard to position, allowing the top vote-getters to advance purely on support and recognition.

Luka entered Monday's reveal with momentum after leading the previous rounds of fan voting, which he maintained with a total of 3,402,967 votes.

Luka is the only player in the West to receive more than 3 million votes, ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who received 3,218,398 votes.

Despite Doncic's dominance among fans, he finished sixth in the player poll and second in the media panel poll with 95 votes apiece.

Even so, fan support was enough to secure his spot in the starting lineup and make him the centerpiece of the announcement.

One notable development is the end of LeBron James' historic All-Star starting streak.

After 21 consecutive seasons as a starter, the Lakers legend was omitted from the final tally, marking the first time since his rookie year that he wasn't in the starting lineup.

The Western Conference starting five includes Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Doncic, Victor Wembunyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. In the East, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and Giannis Antetokounmpo won the starting positions.
