Austin Rivers absolutely lights up Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga for Bulls

The Jonathan Kuminga trade is nearing completion as the forward is now eligible to be traded, but one former NBA player is still in disbelief about the whole situation.

Kuminga hasn't played for the Warriors since Dec. 18 and by all reports doesn't want to play, despite the team's desperate need for another scorer as the team continues to sit in eighth place with a 24-19 record this season.

“The Jonathan Kuminga situation is complete bullshit,” Austin Rivers said on his podcast. “The way they're treating Kuminga is something I haven't seen in a long time. Well, this is a guy who averages 20 points a game. I know that because he does it. When guys get injured, he does average 20-plus in a month and something changes. I'm not making this up, it happens. Well, last year he was in and out of the lineup and didn't even play in the playoffs, and then they brought him to one game in the playoffs. Off the bench, he scored 30. Is that good in the playoffs?”

Kuminga has played only 18 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 43.1% from the field and 32% from three-point range. Rivers is confused that his talent continues to be wasted on the bench day after day.

“Kuminga is a talent and an athlete,” Rivers continued. “I'm talking about his leaping and explosiveness on the court, and people are like, 'Wow.' How can this guy not get a minute on a pathetic Warriors team? It drives me crazy. I watch the Warriors all the time. Since I'm on NBC With my new job, I'm watching more basketball now than I ever have. When I look at this poor Warriors team, I'm like, how the hell doesn't this guy come off the bench? I look at Podziemski, Moody, and some other asshole guys, and Moody's been great, and they've got other guys before Kuminga. He's 6'8, but they're struggling in terms of scoring half the time, and they have a guy who's averaging 20. “

For JK, a breakup with the Warriors seems imminent.
