Steve Kerr gets honest about Jonathan Kuminga trade situation

Steve Kerr opened up about the very sticky situation he, the Warriors, and Jonathan Kuminga find themselves in.
Kuminga's name has been part of trade rumors for months, with Kerr likening it to what forward Andrew Wiggins went through before being sent to the Heat at last season's trade deadline as part of the deal that brought Jimmy Butler to the Bay Area.
“Everybody wants honesty,” Cole said on The Tom Tolbert Show. “They don't want to be catered to. They want to know what is what, but you have to deliver that message with some empathy. It's a tough situation to be in. He's got two little girls at home, and he's been here five years. Andrew Wiggins was in this boat a year ago, Wiggers was actually about to have his third child at the trade deadline, and his name is floating around out there, and we go through this every year, but there's always like one or two players who become the focus of the trade deadline.”
Kerr knows how his players will feel as the Feb. 5 trade deadline approaches, but he tries to remind them that this is all part of the NBA business.
“I always try to talk to these guys about the business and this is how it works and how few players in the history of the NBA have played for one team and it's all part of the deal you sign, but it doesn't make it any easier when you feel like you're getting sent away and you have to pack up your family and leave,” Kerr said. “It's hard and I just think it's important to acknowledge that to players and try to understand that part of the business.”
