Rockets player Engstrom named AHL Player of the Week TheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts … American Hockey League announced today Laval Rockets defenseman Adam Engstrom has been selected as Howies Hockey Video/AHL Player of the Week Period ending November 23, 2025.
Engstrom had three goals (including two game-winners) and four assists for seven points in three games with the Rockets and ended his week by returning to his parent club, the Montreal Canadiens, for the first time in his career.
Engstrom has scored in each of Laval's three games, starting Wednesday night against Syracuse. His overtime goal gave the Rockets a 4-3 victory over Belleville on Friday night. In Saturday's rematch against the Senators, Engstrom tied a franchise record with five points and added one point and four assists in Laval's 7-2 victory.
Engstrom, who was drafted by the Canadiens in the third round of the 2022 NHL Draft, leads all AHL defensemen with five goals and is tied for second with 14 points in 18 games with the Rockets this season. The 22-year-old from Jelna, Sweden, made his North American debut in the 2024-25 season, appearing in 66 games for Laval and contributing five goals and 22 assists. Engström previously skated with Rögle BK in the Swedish Hockey League for two seasons.
