Captain Coachella Valley Firebirds Max McCormick Will undergo hip surgery and hope to miss the entire season of the 2025-26 season.
Last season's 11-year professional player was limited to the Firebirds, limiting 19 games, collecting 7 goals and 6 assists. His last appearance was on January 11 against Chicago.
McCormick is a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, a franchise leader (140) and goals (67) for Firebirds and helped the team win back-to-back Western Conference championships in 2023 and 2024.
McCormick scored a total of 159 goals and 178 assists with 337 points in a 540 professional AHL match against Coachella Valley, Charlotte, Chicago, Colorado, Belleville and Binghamton.
