Colorado Avalanche has been obtained Danil Gushchin From San Jose Sharks in exchange for moving forward Oskar Olausson.
Gushchin, 23, surpassed 20 goals in each of the three AHL seasons, scoring 150 points in 182 games against San Jose. In 2024-25, he won a career-best 28 goals for Barracuda in 56 games, added 23 assists in 56 games and led the AHL with 14 strong goals.
Gushchin also skated with the Sharks in 2024-25, with two goals and three assists in 18 professional NHL games. He was originally San Jose's third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Olausson, 22, scored 11 goals and 15 assists in the AHL Colorado Eagles of the 2024-25 AHL Colorado Eagles, with a career-best 26 points. In three professional seasons, Olausson has scored a total of 33 goals and 33 assists in 163 games with the Hawks.
Olausson was the first round choice for the Avalanche in the 2021 NHL Draft (No. 28 in total), playing four games in the NHL, including two games last season.
