Devin Booker

Devin Booker won't go anywhere for the foreseeable future.

The Phoenix Suns superstar has agreed to a two-year, $145 million maximum extension that will allow him to maintain the franchise for the 2029-30 season.

Booker's deals include the highest annual deferred salary in NBA history of $72.5 million, surpassing the average annual $71.25 million for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

The move is in line with Booker’s comments about how he wants to be a family in March.

“I'm proud of the community in Phoenix and have been supporting me since I was 18 when it was ugly,” Booker told Tim Macmahon of ESPN. “And there are people with us, we just can't do everything we want. So I want to do that, I want to do it here. It's the responsibility to be a franchisee, and I enjoy it with honor. So it's not the prettiest thing right now, but we have to do it, I'll do it.”

The 28-year-old defender, who was all-out in 2015, spent a full 10-year career in Phoenix.

Last season, Booker became the Suns' scoring lead while continuing to dominate offense. He averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.

ESPN Research noted that Booker now averaged at least 25 points for seven consecutive seasons, joining Giannis Antetokounmpo, the only player to reach this milestone.
