Captain Charlotte Checkers Zac Dalpe Retirement has been announced.
Dalpe missed most of the 2024-25 season due to injury, skating in 574 professional AHL games with Charlotte, Cleveland, Iowa, Rochester, Rochester and Albany, recording 220 goals and 173 points in 15 professional seasons and 393 points in 15 professional seasons, including six years of Grade 5 fuel (2019-21-21-21) and Inspectors (2019-21) and (20221-25). He was selected by the AHL as captain of the Eastern Conference team at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic.
Dalpe was selected in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft and also played 168 games in the National Hockey League with Carolina, Vancouver, Buffalo, Minnesota, Columbus and Florida. He also skated in 16 playoff games, including a 2023 appearance in the Panthers' Stanley Cup final.
Dalpe's Parisian, who scored 23 goals and 57 points in 61 games against Charlotte, was selected for the AHL All-Rookie team in 2010-11. He went on to post five 20-goal seasons on the AHL, including 33 goals against Cleveland in 2018-19, and 30-goal seasons for the Checkers in 2021-22.
