National Weather Service predicts strong storms, rainy days ahead of mild race weekend

According to the National Weather Service, strong thunderstorms are expected to hit Indianapolis in the afternoon and evening on May 20.
All afternoon, rain and showers will continue. Isolated storms may occur before this, but forecasters do not expect widespread storms until 4 p.m.
The National Meteorological Administration predicts that on May 20, 2025, there will be a threat of thunderstorms.
Strong winds are the most urgent threat. Winds in the storm can reach up to 50 mph, and gusts throughout the day will be more mild, about 20 to 25 mph. Floods and hail are also possible.
The storm will end around 2 a.m. on May 21. On May 21 and May 22, rain will continue to fall, but no storm is predicted.
NWS meteorologist Earl Breon said that it is because forecasters are always concerned about flood risks. Drivers should be aware of flood risks in commuting.
“It is not uncommon for a place to have lighter precipitation.
Sunshine will be back on May 23. The weekend matches have looked calm and gentle so far, with only 30% chance of rainfall on May 25.
