“She's dying and I'm doing nothing,” her father, Hussain Hajaj, told CBS News. “I can hardly feed her, I don't know what to do.”
Ongoing talks in Doha
Meanwhile, a ceasefire was conducted in Doha during a war between Israel and Hamas. After talks between Qatar and Mr. Trump last week, U.S. and Qatar mediators proposed a new push to reach a deal, a source with knowledge that confirmed the talks to CBS News.
A source told CBS News that the Hamas delegation is currently holding a critical meeting with the foreign minister of Katari and representing a delegation on Egyptian intelligence on the prisoner exchange negotiations. Israeli Defense Minister Katz confirmed that the Israeli delegation is also attending the talks.
CBS News confirmed that U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff was actively working on Saturday to try to put together the ceasefire mechanisms to free more hostages. Witkoff helped trade with Hamas to release Israeli-American Hostage Edan Alexanderjust a few days before Trump’s week-long trip to the area.
Kathari Prime Minister Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani told Fox News that his administration helped convince Hamas to implement the release, which would have been the first step towards a full hostage deal.
