Tornado batsman Missouri tornado hits Kentucky with severe storm killing at least 21 people

At least 21 people were killed in Kentucky and Missouri when the tornado broke out as the tornado was swept through the two states and the death toll was expected to increase, officials said.

In Kentucky, Gov. Andy Beshear said earlier Saturday that at least 14 people were killed in his state.

“Kentucky, we started with the tough news that we started today that we lost at least 14 people last night's storm, but sadly, that number is expected to grow as we receive more information.”

At least nine people were in Laurel County, about 240 kilometers south of Louisville, when a tornado landed before midnight on Saturday, Sheriff John Root said in a social media post.

He said there are many serious injuries and are looking for survivors.

Aerial images posted on social media show scenes of total destruction of Laurel County, with the entire house reduced to debris, and cars and pickup trucks suffered as they woke up from a tornado.

According to Louisville Broadcasting Corporation WLKY, in Union County, near the Illinois border, 400 kilometers west of Lokshu County, Twister reportedly upgraded the mobile home.

Earlier, officials said the tornado passed through the Missouri city of St. Louis, killing at least five people and damaging 5,000 properties when it tore up the roof. It also knocked down power lines and swept large access during Friday's peak hour traffic, officials said.

Five people died in St. Louis, southeastern Missouri, in Scott County, St. Louis, officials said.

“Our city is sad tonight,” St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer, who was sworn in a month ago, told reporters Friday night.

“The loss and destruction of life is real and really terrible.”

“The wind began and the trees in front were shaking violently.” “Suddenly, all the doors were closed and the windows flew out of the bedroom… the entire back of my house… you can go straight to the alley now.”

A spokesman for St. Louis Children's Hospital and Barnes Jewish Hospital told NBC News that at least 35 people were admitted to the facility, with 15 people receiving the children's facility, while Barnes-Jewish received at least 20 people (possibly 30 years old) – those who may be injured were injured, and as a result.

The city imposed a curfew in two police districts where damage occurred from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. local time to prevent dangerous debris injuries and reduce the possibility of robbery.

The National Weather Service said thunderstorms were widespread in the Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio valleys on Friday, as well as the potential for heavy rain and flash flooding.

Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson said that given the overall damage, there were about 500 first responders, including 17 search teams, with early signs that the number of injured was relatively small.

The National Weather Service reported that Missouri and neighboring Illinois had at least six tornadoes, and other bad weather stretched along the Atlantic coast, including another tornado in New Jersey.
