What’s on TV this weekend: “Nonas”, “Poker Face” and more

Whether you're looking for a great new TV binge or a movie that can be thrown away in two hours, you can find something on streaming this weekend.
On the TV side, this week, Peacock Fun, the return of the celebrity-painted detective performance poker face, starring Natasha Lyonne, and a new episode where Conan O'Brien's stupid travel series Conan O'Brien must move on. You can also work out to Paramount Plus to watch the first two episodes of Drag Race All Stars Season 10, Season 10, Season 10 by Rupaul.
If you're looking for content of length, there are several great original movies this week, including Vince Vaughn in the emotional comedy Nonnas, his starring Susan Sarandon, Linda Cardellini and Joe Manganiello, and Hulu, led by SNL's Chloe Fineman in the summer of 69 in Hulu.

Best new TV shows and movies to be played this weekend
Netflix
Vince Vaughn makes headlines for the new, sensual Netflix Dramedy nonnas about a man who honors his late mother by opening a restaurant for some of her comforting family recipes. hook? The restaurant’s chefs are all Italian grandmas – titular nonnas played by Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire and Brenda Vaccaro. The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky and Joe Manganiello and Linda Cardellini.
For a generation, Judy Blume’s novel Judy Blume Forever was published in 1975 as a touchstone of adolescence, a seminal book about young adult relationships that speaks publicly and honestly about sexual behavior (which also makes it the target of censorship in some places). Netflix turns this young adult novel into a new series in Los Angeles in 2018, and it’s two teenagers, Keisha (Lovie Simone) and Justin (Justin Jr.) to each other’s first love story. The show premieres on May 8.

Conan O'Brien Must Go (May 8)
Do you like to learn about new places and cultures by watching travel shows? Then the show that Conan O'Brien has to go is your show. (A little kidding.) On O'Brien's non-industry travel show, he brought his unparalleled comedy brand around the world, meeting podcast fans and immersing himself in the local culture while also sometimes away from the beaten track. If you know Conan’s comedy, you’ll know what to expect. The three-episode season premieres on May 8.

Rupaul's Drag Race All-Star Season 10 (May 9)
Rupaul's Drag Race All-Stars' tenth season will begin this week and bring back fan favorite Queens bands such as Aja, Ginger Minj and Jorgeous for a new match that features a brand new format. For most of the season, Queens will be playing match-style games different from any match we’ve seen before. The first two episodes of the new season will drop on Paramount Plus (you can also capture undeleted late episodes immediately after the weekly episodes end). Also note this season with incredible guest judges including Ice Spice, Chapel Ron, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
Apple TV Plus
Ewan McGregor may be known for his roles in the train lot and Star Wars prequels, but he will play his own role in the new Apple TV Plus Docu series. The show co-star McGregor and his longtime friend Charley Boorman traveled on motorcycles across Europe. The series is the fourth episode of the two-player adventure, and you can also have a long, long route on Apple TV Plus.
Hu Lu
In the new Hulu original film Summer 69, Sam Morelos plays an awkward high school student who hires an exotic dancer played by Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman to help her seduce her own obsession. The film is co-written and directed by actress Jillian Bell, and is a celebrity of comedy talent including Liza Koshy, Charlie Day, Charlie Day, Nicole Byer, Natalie Morales and Paula Pell.

Shortly after filmmaker Rian Johnson made the hit Detective Movie franchise, he turned his eyes to the small screen and created the Detective TV series Poker Face. Both projects feature a delightful quirky detective and an incredible ensemble cast, but Poker Face returns to performances from the 1970s and 80s, such as Murder, she writes, Columbus, the mystery of Columbo, the mystery of the week is solved by a reluctant detective, Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne). Cale, a Vegas waitress, happens to have supernatural powers to sniff lies, which makes her the perfect person to defeat criminals and killers, who seem to follow her wherever she goes. The first three episodes of Season 2 will drop on May 8, making their debut every Thursday thereafter.
