Israeli military says Yemen is disabled in air strikes at major airport in Sanaa

IsraelThe military said on Tuesday it launched air strikes against Yemeni Iran-backed Houthi rebels, completely banning the country's international airport in the capital, Sanaa, and hitting several power plants.

The military issued a warning on social media to evacuate areas of Yemen's international airport.
“We urge you to evacuate the airport area immediately and warn anyone nearby to keep your distance immediately,” spokesman Avicay Adraee wrote on social media. “The failure to evacuate the area is endangering your life.”

Israel killed at least one person and injured 35 people on Monday night against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in the Jodida province of Yemen's Red Sea. The rebels' media office said at least six strikes attacked the crucial port of Hodida at Hodida. The rebels said others attacked a cement plant in the Bagir area, 55 kilometers and 34 miles northeast of Hodida. The Houthi Ministry of Health said the strikes killed at least four people and injured 39 people.

Israel repeatedly attacked Yemen's rebels. In Hodeida and its oil infrastructure attacked Hodeida, a Houthi drone attack killed one person and injured 10 people in Tel Aviv.
In September, Israel attacked Hodeida again, killing at least four people after a missile returned to the country as Prime Minister Ben Gurion Airport. In December, an Israeli strike killed at least nine people in Hodida.
A decade ago, a few months after the Yemeni Civil War began, the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa suspended its operations. The U.S. government says Americans should not go to Yemen for any reason and cannot provide emergency services to their citizens there.
