Whose face is in K-Pop singer Lisa's lace bodysuit?

The star-studded annual fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is often a challenge. Guests want to impress and need to properly be given the evening’s themed outfit – this year, the party celebrates “Super Beautiful: Cut Black Style,” a historical creation for Black Playboy.

The idea is to nail the introduction, and more importantly, don't be the one who prompts criticism online for the outfit. Some people are worried that celebrities may find the theme on Monday night particularly tricky.

“I really don’t want to see any landed Durags or leather crutches,” Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, stylist and former global contribution editor of Vogue, said before the event.

Lisa, a Thai singer at K-Pop Group Blackpink and star of the latest season of The White Lotus, found herself the focus of Monday night’s discussion after her light lace ensemble mode (a black lace single corset) paired with Louis Vuitton on the corset, paired with Louis Vuitton Monogram leggings – posed an online question.

Whose face is in that lace?

The observer of Hawkeye Blue Carpet noticed that the lace that makes up Lisa's trousers seemed to contain a tiny, intricate face.

“Lace replicates the artwork elements of American artist Henry Taylor, depicting portraits of characters who were once part of the artist’s life,” Louis Vuitton wrote in a statement about the structure of Lisa’s costume.

Mr. Taylor portrays characters including Barack and Michelle Obama and artist David Hammons, who recently drew a portrait of Pharrell Williams on the cover of the May issue of Vogue.

Mr Williams worked with Mr Taylor in Paris to embroider small portraits of the artist, wearing suits, jackets and accessories.
