More than 2 million fans attend the free Lady Gaga concert in Rio de Janeiro

Lady Gaga held a free concert in front of more than 2 million fans on Saturday night, flocking to Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach for the biggest show of her career.
“Tonight, we are making history,” Mrs. Gage told a screaming crowd. “Thank you for making history with me.”
As we all know, the mother monster started the show after 10 p.m. locally with her 2011 song “Bloody Mary”. Joyful cry emanated from the nervous fans, singing and dancing on the huge sand.
Concert organizers said 2.1 million people participated in the show, which was funded by the city of Rio to revitalize the economy. Rio City Hall said in a recent report that the show should bring at least 600 million reais, about $106 million.
For Gaga, acting is also an opportunity to promote her upcoming launch. “Mayhem Ball” tourfeaturing songs from her latest record chaos. The album ranked No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it was released in early March, including new perspectives like “Abracadabra”.

Lady Gaga also performed many older classics in Saturday’s free performance, including “Poker Noodles” and “Alejandro,” switching between a series of dresses, including colors with the Brazilian flag.
Some fans – many of them young – dawn cracks reach the beach to ensure a great place for restaurants and drinks. They spent the day in the sun while others sat in the trees, determined to get a panoramic view.
“Today was the best day of my life,” said designer Manoela Dobes, 27.
Last year, Madonna also turned Copacabana Beach into a huge dance floor.
The massive performance is part of the City Hall effort to promote carnival and New Year’s Eve celebrations and the upcoming month-long St. John’s Day celebrations.
“In the previously thought of low season, it brought activities to the city – filling hotels and increasing spending on bars, restaurants and retail, bringing jobs and income to the population,” Osmar Lima, the city's economic development minister, said in a statement released last month.

Similar concerts are planned to be held every year at least in 2028.
Lady Gaga arrived in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Tuesday. The city has been alive with Gaga-Mania since then as it prepares to welcome the pop star to her first show in the country since 2012. Rio's Metro staff danced on Lady Gaga's 2008 hit song “LoveGame” and directed it in Saturday's video. A free exhibition celebrates her career.
Although the vast majority of attendees were from Rio de Janeiro, the event also attracted Brazilians and international tourists from all over the country.
Rio City Hall said in a statement Friday that more than 500,000 tourists flocked to the city, more than double the initial forecast, according to data from local bus stations and Tom Jobs Airport.
30-year-old engineer Ingrid Serrano travels to Brazil to perform from Colombia.
“I've been a 100% fan of Lady Gaga all my life.
For her, the big star represents “freedom of complete expression – someone who wants without shame.”
Rio de Janeiro officials have a history of organizing large concerts at Copacabana Beach. Madonna's show attracted about 1.6 million fans last year, while Rod Stewart flocked to the beach on the 1994 New Year's Eve show in 1994. According to the Guinness World Records, this is the largest free rock concert in history.
To ensure fans can hear the songs, 16 sound towers were scattered along the beach.

Rio's security plan includes 3,300 military members, 1,500 police officers and 400 firefighters.
Among those present were admirers of Lady Gaga, who remembered the disappointment in 2017, when the artist canceled a last-minute show in Rio de Janeiro due to health issues.
Ricardo Filho has been a fan since he was a child and he said it is worth the wait.
The 25-year-old said: “She is the best artist in the world.
