Google launches battery replacement program for swollen pixel 7A phone
Google offers free repairs, payments (in some countries) to remedy issues with the Pixel 7A battery. 9to5google Found a Google Support page detailing the extended repair plans in 40 countries. If your pixel 7a is noticeably swollen or the battery drains faster than usual, you may be replacing the battery on the house.
The company said it was “confirm that some Pixel 7A phones may experience unexpected battery swelling”. Telltale signs include a thicker thickness than usual in the phone, a raised back cover, a gap or opening visible at the edges, or a faster battery drain.
Google faces complaints about the Pixel 7A problem on social media before taking action. For example, in December, U/ESZENCE08 was released in Pixel Subreddit, and after failing to get help from Google's support for battery bloating issues, they only posted solutions about the company on Reddit. Their conclusion is: “Posting a post; Google is more helpful than chat support.”
Even if your device exhibits one or more symptoms, it still needs to be checked through a check. You can start by visiting Google's Qualifications page, which will take you through some steps to determine the eligibility of a specific device. After that, the maintenance staff will inspect it before proceeding.
The final step is necessary because irrelevant damage, including liquid damage, exposure to sharp objects or excessive force, will invalidate repairs. (Most of these precautions sound like “we need to make sure you don’t turn on your phone to get a free battery.”) In addition, in addition to the repair costs such as yarn damage like a monitor or a crack in the cover glass, Google will provide an estimate before starting.
Things get even more complicated as we arrive at the country collapses one by one. You have two options in the US and India: mail your device to Google or take it to an authorized walk-in repair center. Face-to-face repairs are also available in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and Singapore. (There are no mail repairs available in these countries.)
The program also expands to those who purchase their equipment in Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Switzerland and EEA countries. If your country is not listed, you will get nothing.
However, for countries that do not have mailing options (all countries except the United States and India), Google offers an alternative “applapasement option”, i.e., spending or store credit. If your Pixel 7a is not under the warranty period, you can claim $200 in the Google Discount Code to convert $300 to local currency (also locally converted) to buy another pixel phone on the Google Store. If it is still under warranty, you can convert a healthier $456 payment to local currency.
If you think your Pixel 7A is qualified, you can go to Google's support page to start.
