Jim Acosta is a former White House and correspondent, CNN host, and has signed with WME.
Acosta started his career with local radio and television stations and joined CNN with CBS News, covering issues including the 2004 presidential election, Iraq QAR and Hurricane Katrina. He covered Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the 2008 presidential election on CNN, then became a national political correspondent, and reported on Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential election. During Obama's second term, he was promoted to senior White House correspondent and then became the White House chief correspondent in 2018 during his first term as president by Donald Trump.
More from diversity
Acosta left CNN in January and has since been living in independent journalism in alternatives, where he has more than 300,000 subscribers, of which more than 10,000 have been paid. There, he broadcasts live daily, including guests such as Pete Buttigieg and leader Hakeem Jeffries. On Tuesday, he hosted his first in-person event, which was Don Lemon and Michael Cohen’s town hall.
WME will work with Acosta to build its own independent news business through other partnerships, digital distribution and live events.
In addition to Acosta, WME also represents journalists including Robin Roberts, Katland Collins, Joe Scarborough and Rachel McDonald. The agency also supports communication platforms for Norm Eisen and Jennifer Rubin (counter-trend) and Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman (Capital Insense) and Oliver Darcy (status).
