Poland accuses Polish military facilities on behalf of Russia against Ukrainian man

Warsaw, Poland (AP) – Polish authorities said on Tuesday they alleged that a 47-year-old Ukrainian citizen worked on Russian intelligence after being found reconnaissance in Poland last month.
The State Attorney's Office did not name the man, but said he was born in Russia and was arrested and charged on March 20.
The prosecutor's office said in a statement that the suspect's activities involved “searching a military facility in Poland” on behalf of the Russian Intelligence Agency, a five- to 30-year prison condition that could be punished under Polish law. The suspect explained that his “connection with Russia led to the ideological motivation for his activities”, the office added.
Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the Polish Ministry of Interior and Security Department, said on X that the 47-year-old Ukrainian citizen was arrested in security personnel in Masovia province near Warsaw in central Poland.
He told the Associated Press that the arrest was not announced immediately because certain steps must be completed first, “for the investigation.”
Polish officials said the country was targeted by a spy and mixed war attack launched by Moscow, which has become even worse since Russia's invasion of neighboring Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the war, the Internal Security Agency has been suspected of espionage or sabotage by Russia or Belarus. Dobrzinski said that it included Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians and Poles.
