The LAFD announced that the 29-year-old disappeared for nearly four months in a recreational dive, the body of Connor J. Lees, a Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter, has been missing for nearly four months.
Long Beach police recovered Lis' body near the coast of Long Beach, the fire department said in a statement Saturday.
“LAFD fell into grief with firefighter Lees’ family, friends and colleagues.” The department said. “We express our deepest condolences to all who know and love him.”

The firefighters who were off work were part of four men in their 20s who set out for freediving that night, which involved swimming underwater without a respirator or scuba tank.
The Long Beach Fire Department said at the time that Lis was one of three divers who crashed into the water while driving. When only two people resurfaced, the group called 911.
