Trump calls Musk a “big drug addict” and physical fight with the Treasury Secretary is “too much”
The friendship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk exploded before the Tesla CEO fired a series of (self-deletion) friendships last week, as the president told insiders that the former governor was a “big drug addict” and believed that the physical fight with the Treasury Secretary was “too much.”
Trump warned White House insiders to be careful of Musk and told JD Vance to be “cautious” when it comes to the consequences.
Musk was further accused of “estranged key members of White House staff, including Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and quarreled with cabinet members” and even beat one member. The post is linked to 17 people's knowledge of these events, including the anonymous status of many of them.
Officials explained that the two disagree with the best way to save money in the country, including the passage of potential “big bill” spending packages. After Trump-approved candidate lost the state’s Supreme Court game, the White House began to realize Musk was “a real political issue” on April 1.
Musk also had a physical confrontation with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent after Trump supported Bessent's choice to act as an IRS commissioner on Musk's advice. After meeting with Trump, the men began to “exchange insults” and “Bester made Musk’s claim that he would reveal more than $1 trillion in wasteful and fraudulent government spending, which Musk did not succeed in doing.”
Musk eventually pushed his shoulder into Best's ribs “like a football player”, and Best's reaction was reacting, and Trump later said “too much”. By the end of April, Musk announced that he would retreat from Washington, D.C. to focus on his own company.
One of the ultimate blows was when Trump told Musk that despite Musk's encouragement, he did not nominate Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator (Isaacman donated to several Democrats). Musk saw it as an offense to his own space-related targets, including colonizing Mars, and launched a tirade against Trump on X a few days later.
While some people “hope to reconcile,” White House insiders told The Post, “it will never be the same.”
