Rangers acquire aubé-kubel, Sabre gets brännström|theahl.com

New York Rangers have been acquired Nicholas Aubu Kuber From Buffalo Sabre in exchange for defensemen Erik Brännnström.

This season, Aubé-Kubel recorded four goals and four assists in 12 games in the Rochester Americans of the AHL, along with one goal and one assist in 19 NHL games with the Sabres.

Aubé-Kubel is a ninth-grade professional who has accumulated 55 goals and 61 assists for Rochester, Hershey and Lehigh Valley in 252 professional AHL games.

Aubé-Kubel was the second round pick for Philadelphia in the 2014 NHL Draft, earning a total of 32 goals and 48 assists in 301 professional NHL games. He won the Stanley Cup in 2022 in Colorado.

Brännström, who was acquired by the Rangers from Vancouver on January 31, has scored three goals and 13 assists in 14 AHL games between Abbotsford and Hartford this season.

In 104 professional AHL games, Brännström recorded 14 goals and 65 assists in 79 points. He is the 2018-19 Rookie of the Year AHL All-Star.

Brännström was originally Las Vegas' first-round pick in the 2017 NHL draft (No. 15 overall), scoring 10 goals and 67 assists in 294 career NHL games against Ottawa and Vancouver.
