Five skiers found dead on glaciers in Switzerland; another skier killed by an avalanche

Authorities say the bodies of five skiers were found on a glacier above the Swiss resort town of Zermatt.
Vales Guangzhou police said Sunday the victims team was located on the Adler glacier after aerial glaciers and ground searches after two hikers reported seeing abandoned snowboards near Rimpfischhorn on a 4,000-meter peak in the Vales Alps.
Formal identification with victims is still underway and their nationality has not been released.
Authorities have investigated the accident. Weather conditions and avalanche activity in the area are being inspected as part of the probe.
Bern State Police
On Saturday, in the high-altitude resort town of Kandersteg, a 1.5-hour north of Zermatt, local police said an avalanche buried three skiers on Morgenhorn and killed one of them. According to Bern police, two of the men suffered minor injuries.
Police said the deceased was identified as a 29-year-old Swiss citizen in the state of Bern.
