Lenovo's AI Ring lets me control a 3D PC with my finger clicks, just like a wizard

You might think you now understand the purpose of smart rings. It measures your steps, stress levels, sleep- you get it. But wait! Lenovo's concept AI smart ring is a completely different fish kettle.

I admit that when I tried it at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it looked and felt a lot like the smart ring I used to wear. It has the outline of a man's wedding ring and there is too much volume around the sides. Form is one thing and works completely.

The purpose of this ring is to allow gesture-based control Lenovo Thinkbook 3D Laptop (It is also a concept at the moment). The laptop itself has a directional 3D backlight that allows 2D and 3D content to appear simultaneously on the same screen. The ring allows you to manipulate 3D content, turn it inverted and inverted – that's how.

With the ring on the pointer's finger, you can double-click (enter or forward) with your thumb or single point (return back) (return back) on the lighting point and slide to either side to navigate. In the demo I showed, I could navigate between 3D models including the T. Rex and the spacecraft and check them from all angles by gently grazing the ring.

The most important thing is that the ring can feel it when I reach out my finger. In the presentation, I simply click on my thumb and middle finger to traverse the slide’s presentation. I didn't even touch the ring, but it could read the vibrations in my hand clearly. I felt a little like a wizard-although a wizard showing the slide deck (if I was a wizard I might have used my power to avoid working in a company).

Clicks are seamless, but gesture controls are difficult to master and do not always work accurately. It is important to remember that although this is just a concept, and as a concept, it is a concept that I like. Wearable technology usually ends up being just a variation of a theme – the theme is fitness tracking – but this shows a sense of imagination and ambition, and I hope to see more imagination and ambition in the growing smart ring market.
