Kendrick Perkins

Kendrick Perkins once again caught eyebrows, this time with a bold view of Luka Doncic and his conditions, and whether former Mavericks boss Mark Cuban played a role.

The former NBA big man didn't back down, suggesting that Don Sic might have “comfortified” in his early years in Dallas, thanks to Cuban players in the first place.

“Can we put some responsibility on the mavericks of Dallas?” Perkins asked in a recent episode Road trippin'. “Persevere, stick with it, listen to me truthfully. Mark Cuban is one of them, and when it comes to players, I don't know anyone who has a special relationship or who has a more special relationship with Mark Cuban or caters to the players. Am I wrong or am I right?”

Podcast co-host Richard Jefferson inserted the comments and pointed out that Luka should be responsible for his conditioning.

Perkins acknowledged this, but then doubled it.

“I know, RJ,” Perkins said. “But just listen to me, just listen to me.

He went on to suggest that the shift in ownership and front-end tone might have put Doncic in a different reality.

“He might have been spoiled and suddenly, they sold the team, the new ownership group, Nico Harrison. They liked, ‘f – this. I didn’t even want to walk that hole.

Although Don Sich's body shape has always been a focus of the debate, his performance on the floor is still undeniable.

Last season, five All-Stars were still averaging 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists in 50 games against the Mavericks and Lakers.
