Opinions | “Looking from the Floor”: What I learned from “Mory”

As long as I remember, I have been obsessed with performances on stage. Since I was born with no legs, shortly after, news crew, state television and even talk show host Maury Povich arrived to capture my actions, always portraying my simplest activities as inspiring.

This concern forces me to fight for a lifetime of imposter syndrome when I pursue my passion for creativity. The short film “View from the Floor” above captures my journey, exploring tropes, exploitation, and the question of whether I am talented or typewriter, superstar or super Kripp (a person with disabilities seen as a superhero every day).

Together with Megan Griffiths, I'm working on a full-featured documentary that explores these topics, as well as sex, drugs and rock music, no legs.

Megan Griffiths is a film and television director. Mindie Lind is a musician, director and writer.
