I've tried Microsoft's new free AI video generator: Here's how to use it

Microsoft has a new free tool that allows you to create AI-generated videos: Bing Video Creator. When I just tried using the text prompt, in less than a minute the app generated a 5 second video on the bing logo on the inflatable pool and floated in the pool with Flamingo and Donut Floaties.
There are some limitations – for beginners, a length of 5 seconds long. Again, currently, the video is only in 9:16 vertical format. Microsoft said it will soon provide a 16:9 horizontal format. Users can choose to make “fast” or “standard” videos. Depending on the application, Fast is the default value is almost instantaneous, while the standard can take hours. Quickly require Microsoft reward points, which can be earned through Bing search and Microsoft Store purchases, and other ways.
This is the frame in the 5 second video, which whipped the video creator for me. In the video, the water tears apart gently and the floating object shakes gently.
The feature is currently only available on the Bing Search Mobile app, but the feature is about to search for Windows desktop and Copilot. It is powered by Openai's Sora video technology
Bing Video Creator joins other major AI-driven video creation tools, including Chatgpt from OpenAI, Adobe Firefly, Google Veo, Runway and Meta Movie Gen's Sora. You can check out what Google's latest VEO 3 features can do for those willing to pay for the Gemini Ultra. The technology is rapidly evolving, with more and more options available, some for free, or for charges on an AI-Service subscription.
How to use bing video creator
It's not immediately intuitive to find or use video creators, especially if you haven't used the Bing search app.
In the app, I access the feature by clicking on the box in the bottom right corner of the home screen. This brings many applications in the app; look for “Video Creator” in the lower left.
There, you can create still images or videos by entering text prompts. Use the Quick Option (default) to generate a short video instantly.
If you don't want to look for this feature, you can also type “Create Videos for…” directly in the main search bar of the app.
You can download and share videos. When I tried it, I found that the video was not of high quality and downloading it directly from the app was not easy. Share a link to a video created and view it outside the app, providing the option to download the full video.
Microsoft says it will make your video creation available for 90 days.
