The video trying to break in was filmed in Pakistan instead of India
An old video of a mob climbing up an apartment building was misrepresented online as Muslims attempted to attack Hindus at home in Tlangana, India. The actual footage was shot in Pakistan in August 2022.
“This scene is not from Afghanistan or Pakistan, but from Telangana. They were forced into Hindus houses with slogans like ‘cut head’,” a part of the Hindu language X Post shared on March 1, 2025.
It also shared a clip showing several people climbing up the building while others crashing on the front door.

The video is shared with similar claims on X and Facebook.
India's Congress party (Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that it is more favorable to the country's 100 million Muslim minorities, taking office in Teleangana after the 2023 state elections.
Some users seem to think the video was taken in the state and refer to Muslims as “Jihadis”, a derogatory term often used by most Indian grocery stores to refer to the community.
One user commented: “Jihad groups have begun riots in states ruled by Congress. Interior Minister, this is a wake-up call.
“These jihads can pass through various anti-Hindu activities regardless of Congress,” another user wrote.
However, a reverse image search for key frames found a longer version of the video shared in X post on August 25, 2022, with the title shot in Pakistan (a link to archive).
“Indian health worker #Ashokkumar was hunted in Rabia Center in Hyderabad, Pakistan, desecrated blasphemy,” the post read.

The U.S. Council on International Religious Freedom also details Kumar’s case in its list of victims of religion or belief.
Its website says Kumar is accused of burning the Quran and was arrested by Hyderabad police in Pakistan on August 21, 2022. A mob then tries to enter his apartment building to get him (a link to the archive).
It links to a video posted on X, showing scenes in the wrong clip taken from another angle (archive link).
According to an article by the troops on August 31, 2022 (a link to archive), Hyderabad police later discovered that he was innocent and released him.
