Trump – the oldest US president – receives medical treatment
Donald Trump held his first annual medical Friday since returning to power, focusing on a 78-year-old, the oldest presidential election ever and often faces allegations of lack of health.
Since his second term in the White House began his second term, Republican Trump has repeatedly boasted about his vitality while mocking his 82-year-old Democratic former Joe Biden, who died mentally unfit for office.
But now, Trump will be under scrutiny, and the billionaire will arrive at Walter Reed Military Hospital in the suburbs of Washington at 11:00 a.m. (1500 GMT) and is expected to stay there for five hours.
“I never felt better, but despite this, these things have to be done!” Trump said on Truth Social earlier this week.
It is not clear when the results of the test for Presidential physician Sean Barbabella, or their detailed results.
Despite his great interest in the well-being of the U.S. commander-in-chief, Trump has been repeatedly accused of lacking openness to his health.
Trump is a prolific golfer who quit drinking and cigarettes.
But he is also well known to be addicted to fast food and famously love his steak, even though he looks thinner than his first semester.
– “The healthiest individual” –
Trump’s personal and White House doctors sometimes make weird claims about his health.
When Trump first took office in the presidency in 2015, his doctor, Harold Bornstein, published a letter saying that the “tycoon” would be the healthiest person ever elected to the presidency.
Bernstein later told CNN that Trump himself “decided the whole letter. I didn't write that letter.”
His White House doctor, Ronny Jackson, said in 2018 that Trump had a healthier diet and could “live until 200 years.”
Jackson's report later suggested Trump should intend to reduce 10 to 15 pounds, but is usually in a “good health condition”, adding that there are no signs of “any cognitive problems.”
A year later, an exam found that Trump, who was 6-foot-3 (1.9 meters) tall, weighed 243 pounds (110 kg), had gained 7 pounds shortly before taking office, making him technically obese. It said he is taking medication to treat high cholesterol.
In 2020, he told Fox News that he tested cognitive impairments by repeating the term “man, woman, man, camera, television.”
Age became the main issue in the 2024 election, when Trump and Biden became the two oldest major party candidates in history.
Biden was forced to quit after stumbling through a television debate on Trump in June, making his concerns about his cognitive health atop the agenda.
Since returning to the office, Trump has repeatedly compared his energy to that of Biden, while the White House accused the previous administration of covering up the Democrats’ decline.
