Elon Musk

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said his protests against his electric car companies are increasing.

“What shocked me is that there is this hatred and violence in the left,” the tech billionaire said in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday.

“I think the left should be empathetic, caring for the party. But they are burning cars. They are bombing dealers. They are firing bullets at dealers. They are just smashing Teslas.”

“Tesla is a peaceful company, we never did anything harmful, I never did anything harmful, I only did something productive.” He went on to call the attack “smooth” and claimed that “some kind of mental illness is happening.”

Musk also hinted at “a greater force at work.”

“Who is funding it, who is coordinating it?” he concluded.

There is no evidence of extensive coordination and no confirmation of the political affiliation involved in the protests.

Musk's remarks were fires at the Tesla collision center in Las Vegas.

According to Las Vegas police, police arrived at several burning vehicles at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday and sprayed the word “anti-” in front of the business.

At least five cars were damaged in the flames, two of which were completely swallowed up.

Police said the suspect attacked with a Molotov cocktail and a gun, and there was evidence that at least three rounds of ammunition were shot into the vehicle. The unexploded Molotov cocktail was also recovered from the crime scene.

The FBI is currently investigating and says this does not rule out the possibility of terrorism.

Agent Spencer Evans told reporters that the incident “has some signs of a terrorist attack” but was too early to investigate.

“I want to highlight and make it clear that one thing about Crystal, especially given the ongoing reports of similar incidents around the country, targeted attacks at Tesla facilities, violence that happens no matter how it is,” he said.

He continued: “For those who think something like this is reasonable or may be admirable, we want you to know that it is a federal crime and we will follow you and we will find you and prosecute you to the best of the law.”

The Las Vegas incident is the latest in a series of Tesla attacks outside the United States and its borders.
