Hamas says deal with Israel during a stagnant ceasefire phase

Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Tuesday that it had reached an agreement with Israel to release more than 600 Palestinian prisoners from Israel and return four bodies to the Israeli hostages.

The agreement aims to break the deadlock that endangers the ceasefire agreement derails before the completion of the first phase.

Hamas said the plan to release Palestinian prisoners (stopped by Israel a few days ago) will now be held with the body exchange of the Israeli hostages.

The group did not specify when the exchange occurred. It was not initially officially confirmed by Israel.

However, some Israeli media of Israeli officials confirmed the agreement between the two belligerent parties announced by Hamas.

The Israeli era quoted an official who reported that the release would take place through Egypt on Wednesday.

Earlier on Sunday, Israel stopped the release of Palestinian prisoners outlined in the ceasefire agreement, noting that Hamas must first ensure that the “shaming ceremony” surrounding the release of Israel’s hostages ended.

The moratorium affects more than 600 Palestinian prisoners who will be released in exchange for six Israeli hostages.
