James Carville
Longtime political strategist James Carville warned Democratic politicians not to hinder protests across the country against President Donald Trump and his billionaire ally Elon Musk.
“I think what they should do is the possum we play in rural America,” he told MSNBC's Ari Melber on Monday. “Let it go. Don't get in the way. Or as we want to say, “Don't stand there.” Do nothing. Let this sprout. ”
He compared Trump's movement to freight trains and told Democratic politicians to stay away from the right time.
“Use Dalton's immortal words in the Road House, be good until it's bad,” Cavill said. “That time is coming.”
Cavill also targets moderates, and people overreact to Trump.
“No one overreacted,” he said. “We are living in a disaster in real time.”
But he said the trend will be against Trump – and predicted that it will “before you think.”
Cavill notes that there will be a specific date later this year: Nov. 5 election in Virginia, where voters will replace outgoing Governor Glenn Youngkin, who is a Republicans closely aligned with Trump.
“Think about the turnout for federal employees,” he said. “What are the federal employees or families of federal employees among voters in Northern Virginia? Do you think they will vote? I think they will vote. I think I know they will vote. The way they will vote.”
Federal workers are targeting Trump and Musk, who have been cutting budgets, closing departments and firing workers.
